Eindelijk wat nieuws. Finally something new.
Het werkt perfect.
First there was a new stove. My old one was broken and I needed something new. I really love this stove, it is nice and big and with 4 kids who have friends that also want to eat here I have plenty of room to cook big meals.
It works perfect!
And than there was the warp for the double weaving. Still not finished but I hope to have it finished and ready to weave by the end of the week.
For a course I just started I had to weave and the theme was sunny, so you can think sunny colors , or the sun is warm so use warm yarns like wool.
I have 4 tests done now. so I hope I can get further with this.
Next week the weaversgroup I am member of has there last meeting for this season. We have a show and tell than. I had this small piece of test weaving and made this nice little bag out of it.
We also had to make a cushion/pillow this is what I made (see picture below)
And guess what is in the oven right now?
Doesn't that look good? we have it for lunch this afternoon.

wafeltjes en nieuw project./ Waffles and something new.
The waffles are finished, I used cottolin for them. I made two towels and two teatowels, Now only some hemming to do and they can be used.
Yesterday I went to Meppel to a new studygroup called `Weefquadraat`. The meaning of this group is to start with doubleweaving in any way you can. There were a lot of woman and even one man.
It was a very inspiring afternoon.
We are coming together about 3 times a year and try to have a new subject every time we see eachother. Next time it will be thick and thin yarns in double weave. You don´t have to start double weaving but it is real fun to start now.
That is why I made a new warp this afternoon, the yarn is colcoton mercerised 34-2
it has 14 threads per cm so that is in double weave 28 threads.
The colors in the picture are not very good , I guess I have to do another course for fotography some day. The meaning of this double weave scarf is to make all kinds of blocks.
Here the colors are a bit better, I was thinking about a crocus flower. so purple and green. I hope it will turn out the way I planned it. but I realize now that I will not get a real dark and real light site....

Scarf finished and some knitting.
The scarf from the louet Jane is finished. The date on the picture is not right ofcourse. But anyway, you can see how the front and back of the scarf look.
Becourse of the shine of the yarn it is hard to make a nice picture. The lady's in this house thought it is a men scarf but I think on a nice jeanscoat it will also look great at a lady.
Okay, one last picture. Here you can see front and back at the same time and you can see the difference.
What else am I doing? I am knitting the Viften cardigan by Marianne Isager. I am knitting with 100% alpaca yarn on needles 3,5 . I isn't very hard to do but you have to count so keep your head there.
This is the edge, the pattern is not that good to see, I have to stretch it out before I sew it all together.

1 januari op het getouw/ What is on the loom on januari 1th
Meg from Meg weaves http://megweaves.blogspot.com/ has a tradition of placing a picture of her looms at januari 1th showing what is on them. Becourse I really like the idea I also am doing this now.
This is Louet Jane, she still is dressed with the scarf in 34/2 cotton

On the louet Spring I am still buisy with my towels. although the plainweave piece I am doing now can also becoume a tablecloth.
